Movin' In
Hi there!
This next one shows the reason we have been so busy! Yes, our house finished and closed a month early!! The moving trucks arrived on the 23rd after we closed on the 19th. We had hoped to get a ton of painting done over the weekend... but really only got Ethan's room (light blue) and the kids bathroom (bright yellow, like in the old house to go with the frog shower curtain). All in time I guess. :)
Here are SOME {really just a few} of the boxes in the kitchen with DH the tired posing near them for me. I wound up chosing stainless LG appliances. I really like them so far. Of course I haven't really USED them too much yet - they still have plastic on many of them! Also this pic shows the cabinets/floor/counter sorta kinda.
Next is the family room. In this room you can tell our moving in theory. "Just put it in the family room" was uttered too much by us I think! It can be overwhelming with the movers there. There were four of them and they unpacked that HUGE truck in just one day, about 8 hours or a bit less even.
To illustrate the next thing... we had "un-packers" come too. We were very blessed with this move and the help we received. So, what they did (in some of the rooms) was that they unpack the box and lay everything on flat surfaces after first laying down paper. Made the kitchen sort of VERY overwhelming to see everything I own out on counters, the floor, and three tables that we had set up. Yipe. So, this is Abbie's room before....
And this is after....
We are moving along - but I imagine this will all take some time. We have our first visitors a few days before Thanksgiving for the week when Meme and Papa come. That will give me some sort of deadline to make things move faster. One thing that will be happening as quickly as possible is putting COLOR on the walls. Too much builders beige makes me start to feel beige after awhile... know what I mean?
Well, really I am supposed to be packing up here at my parents house right now, so I better get to it! Our goal is to be in the new house overnight tomorrow {Saturday the 27th - our first official move in night!}. I promise that when I can I will get some more current house pics room by room and update you on the other excitement in October (including my brother's Chicago rock concert, some crafting projects, and my sister in law's baby shower to name a few... I told you October has been crazy busy.) For those of you whose personal blogs I am behind on, I am truly sorry and hope to catch up with my commenting soon. Let me know how you're all doing okay? Happy Halloween too! {oy, that's more october to update}

Yay! First comment!!! Anyway, everything looks gorgeously b-e-a-u-tiful and I can't wait to see more! I understand about the color! Need color!!! We are actually at the point where we need to start re-painting some rooms already so maybe your painting will inspire me to paint (yeah, like that will really happen...). So I don't know how you can wait to sleep there! You have so much self control. Congratulations on everything though! You did it!!! Just think, last year at this time MI was just a fantasy dream for you and now you are there and have a fantabulous new home! Yay!
Hey Jenny. Glad to see you have finally moved! Good luck in getting everything put away. I'm sure the kids are excited to have their own rooms again and their stuff! Best wishes...
Kristy
