The New Hip Look in Home Decor - Lego!

Did you all hear?
There is a new interior designer that is all the rage.
He uses Legos to infuse your home with that greatly desired "boys under 10 live here" look. Featured today is the holiday line. While the need for Santa decor may have passed, I trust you can use your imaginations to figure out how the house would look in other seasons as well.

First, the anchor piece. Look closely, Santa is holding up the villain "Squidman". Squidman also looks good in the Christmas cactus where I found him on numerous occasions. Here is the Lego advent calendar that the kids LOVED putting together, although some bickering did ensue if I am being honest about it all. Note how the angel and pencil box filled with Lego accessories compliment the Christmas card album. What genius!
Does your couch have a boring pillow accent? Well my dear friend that is very YESTERDAY. Couches here in the land of boys feature very detailed battle scenes. Please note the civilian did not fair well (appears to have suffered lower body decapitation) in this transformer vs. semi vs. car vs. robot. Very abstract artish isn't it. I know you want a scene in your couch, just admit it! Oh, and as a note for one that knows, LOOK before you sit!
I love decorating with a silver theme. I was so happy with my angel and flowers in an original pottery vase made by Uncle Jared. Note how the designers also felt the space needed something else - a Lego pop of color as it were. Inspiring!Does your fruit also serve as a landing area? If not your fruit is boring indeed.
This is part of the advent set. Would anyone like some cocoa or need their skates sharpened?
Now for those of you out there who don't have lego masters on call (such as perhaps Heather and Tamara) never fear! These designers of mine are able to come in to any home and, given the proper tools, can "redecorate" your whole house in mere minutes!!! Sign up quickly, they are in high demand. And, lucky for you - they work for Legos.
So, I hope you are enjoying 2010. Didn't hear too many of your words yet - LOVED yours brother Matt and i think it is a great one. Have a great weekend, stay safe, and like our happy young fellow below look both ways! ;

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year one and all!
I had a wonderful time ringing in the new year with great friends. Really enjoyed dancing, I get to do that so rarely. I have such wonderful friends and family (including the three different families who each took one of my children so that we could have this night). Don't know how I got so lucky... love you all!

I have a lot to share with you, but tonight I have very little time. Something I wanted to write about in a timely fashion.. the "One Little Word" for 2010. If you look at January 09 you will see my posts about it then. This is actually year three for me.

So here is what Ali Edwards wrote on her blog (she is the scrapbooker who started this particular project): http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/

Basically you want to choose a word that is meaningful to you. Sort of a resolution type of word, or maybe a mantra would be a better definition. Two years ago I chose the word, "move". I made a canvas (as did many of you) to show the word. Here is a link to what I did (note you have to scroll to the bottom to see it). Last year I chose the word "believe". Last years word did not feel as successful to me as move did.

So - I am still waiting for my word to come to me. I find if I just relax about it then the perfect thing eventually occurs. I am sad lately (missing people) so too many negative things are occurring to me - and that won't do! So I'll wait and see.

Do any of you have your words yet? I know Laura does! Maybe if you share your words, and your reasoning if you are comfortable doing so, then it will inspire me.

More soon - have a great week!
